Console: ascii characters not shown correctly

I have the following line in my Java application:

mLogger.info("╔════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╗");

but I see this in the debug console of NB17:
01-05-2023 17:43:22 INFO HomeControl - ╔��������������������������������������������������������������������������������╗
How can I get the correct ascii characters in NB17?  Previous versions of NB (e.g. NB12.5) showed this correctly
