Hi Charles,

You could always try Qt Creator if you're on Linux. Archlinux has got the best and most recent setup IMHO. You can create "normal" C/C++ applications with Qt Creator also, not only Qt stuff. Debugging and profiling works well. If you go into Qt, the documentation is HUGE, and detailed, and it's not always easy to get a good overview, with a very large example library. Qt Creator is what I use for Linux C/C++ application development since many years.

And there's also Microsoft VSCode for Linux (flameproof suit on). It's a good GUI tool.

Just my 5 cents...

Peter

I'm trying to enable C/C++ support for the Linux tool chain., gcc, make and gdb. I was also hoping to get some code formatting and perhaps even library search code completion.

I am following this: https://netbeans.apache.org/tutorial/main/kb/docs/cnd/toolchain/#_tool_collections, but I fall over at step1 Make sure your NetBeans installation includes the NetBeans Plugin Development module.

Because my Netbeans installation, version 3.1, has no 'Development module'. Step 2, Create a new NetBeans module by choosing File > New Project. On the Choose Project page of the New Project wizard, select the category NetBeans Modules

Again I have no NetBeans to select under 'New Project'

Am I missing something obvious ??
