I agree with Andrew, that is not an ODT file. It is something else. It is not a recognizable format accepted by OpenOffice.
Did you have compression or encryption on the external drive at some point? -----Original Message----- From: Hans Lang [mailto:jackthehypnot...@gmail.com] Sent: Tuesday, January 29, 2013 13:12 To: users@openoffice.apache.org Subject: open office dear ladies and gentlemen, i have to apologize for asking you directly about my issue. there are lots of help-desks, faqs, etc. i was not able to use them or when trying to do so, learned they had been shut down. well, in 2008 i stored a couple of files, generated with the then most up to date oo-word-processor, on an external hard disk. the other day, when i opened one of those files with the present oo-word-processor, i found that -depending on the text-filter i used- i could read lots of "funny" characters, except a coherent text. i attached the file, perhaps you -as the present oo-specialists- have an idea how to make it readable. btw. i did already ask a handful of specialists here. they provided me with professional advice, alas it was all unsuccessful. i thank you very much in advance for your assistance in this matter. best wishes from hans -- <http://hypnose.us/images/stories/logo-partner.jpg> Coaching Hypnose Mesmerismus Dr. Hans Lang Laurenzstrasse 61 48607 Ochtrup tel: +49-2553-98653 mob: +49-1520-1971321 http://www.hypnoman.de <http://www.hypnoman.de> http://jackthehypnotist.com <http://goog_1040342530> Newsletter abonnieren?
