I have confirmed the bug using a file that Jonathan was kind enough to provide. I was able to derive a reproducible test case for the bug, which arises when older RTF (\rtf0) format files are opened by Apache OpenOffice 4.1.1 (and earlier) and then saved in RTF format, whether edited or not. The defect involves incorrect conversion to newer (\rtf1) RTF format.
The test case demonstration has been added at <https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=68343>. - Dennis (orcmid @apache.org) -----Original Message----- From: Jonathan [mailto:jonathan20...@netscape.net] Sent: Monday, October 20, 2014 08:05 To: users@openoffice.apache.org Subject: Intermittent problem with RTF files I recently saved an RTF file, and after I saved the file it was corrupted completely. As far as I can tell, the problem is intermittent and I know of no way to reproduce it consistently. How can I determine if this is the same issue that was reported earlier as bug #68343 (http://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=68343)? When I download the attachment in the bug report, I see that it is in a foreign language; however, making any change to it, and saving, produces a similar symptom to what I experienced. But the most recent comment in the bug report indicates that it was not reproducible using in "ooo320-m19" (which, I understand, is the same as OpenOffice 3.2.1), and I have Open Office 4.0.1. How do I know whether bug #68343 applies only to documents written in the language in question, or whether it has the same underlying cause as the problem that I experienced? --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: users-unsubscr...@openoffice.apache.org For additional commands, e-mail: users-h...@openoffice.apache.org --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: users-unsubscr...@openoffice.apache.org For additional commands, e-mail: users-h...@openoffice.apache.org
