Go to the <http://www.openoffice.org/download/> page.

To find older releases, look at the sidebar on the right column.  Under the 
"Additional Resources" heading click the "Alternative download link 
(binaries)."  That will take you here, 
<http://sourceforge.net/projects/openofficeorg.mirror/files/>.   

Notice that alternatives do not go back very far.  The "Archived and legacy 
releases" will be where you will need to go eventually.

I recommend saving a copy of the download on a CD or other backup medium so you 
can reinstall in the future.

I was happy with 4.0.  I downloaded the update 4.1.1 and prefer the older 
version for several reasons.  How can I get the old 4.0 back?  I don’t see it 
on the website
