I can not find anything on how to set up individual column headings to be repeated on each sheet.

You can copy and paste material to other sheets or create formulae on those sheets to refer to the original data. But you probably don't mean "sheets" but instead - as your Subject header clarifies - all *pages*.

I have entered text on the first row of all the columns. then, split / freeze so the headings stay at the top of the page when scrolling down in the spreadsheet. Open office 4.1.2.

Good - though "split" and "freeze" are different ideas, of course: you probably want "freeze" here.

When I print preview the headings appear only on the first page. I went into the format /print ranges/edit/ columns to repeat and selected the page icon, then dragged from the first column to the last. Selected "ok" The headings disappear when I preview the rest of the pages.

Close - but no cigar! You want the first row(s) to repeat, not any columns, so you need to use Format | Print Ranges > | Edit... | Rows to repeat, not ...Columns to repeat. Click on a cell in the first row or drag down relevant cells in any column. The appropriate rows will be repeated in all columns.

I trust this helps.
