Not sure why you paid anyone for the software it is, always has ben and always will be free to download and use. I do not know what you mean by "fill the background of the cells". Are these "cells" in a Calc spreadsheet, or a Writer table? Can you outline the steps you take when you expect those "cells" to be filled with background colors? With that information it might be possible to track down the reason why this does not work for you.
