The odd thing is that sometimes pasting from email or web pge works, and sometimes it doesn't, but when it doesn't the very same clipboard contents pastes into Kword without any trouble.
I think I will leave it now; apart from my pasting from emails being rare, I'm waiting with baited breath for the release of 2.0, which hopefully will be OK on that minor problem, along with all the other more important improvements that we're all looking forward to in our favourite Office software.

There was a bug report about this. You might surf the issue tracker to find your
answer. I tried, but there too many (165) that come up for a search on copy
paste in the summary field... I have other chores that must come before that
much commitment, or I'd likely follow through. ;)
Last I knew it was a known bug that could not be fixed, but then maybe it was
fixed in 1.1 beta2 according to something I just read. I don't know which
version you run or how it fits into the OOo history, because I fell behind on
this issue, but I think you will learn much to satisfy your curiosity if you
search for answers in the Issue Tracker.
