Thanks for the suggestions. I've tried this carefully, but there seem to be
two problems, apart from the somewhat circuitous routine. One is that each
inserted Section appears on a new line, with a box round it (probably the
box doesn't get printed, but I want the text to run-on where I put the
cursor. The other problem is that if the first section copy is done, then,
for another place in the document only a part of the same original text is
selected, this doesn't seem to want to work. Also, yet another line is
generated.

BTW, Tools>update>update all does the updating without saving and reloading.

I'm still trying!
