My question is. How do I convert an Excell spredsheet to OpenOffice so I can change the info? The reason is I have people sending me Excell documents far tracking investments, wages, etc. so that I can track mine the same way but all I can do is view them with the Ecell viewer I have. I can't modify them with my info.

Just open the file using OOo Calc.
Note: If the Excel spreadsheets use macros, the macros will not work in OOo as the base languages are entirely different.
If the files are solely data, you can:
* open the file in Calc * change whatever entries you want * save the file again in *.xls format * send the file back to the originator and they can open the file in Excel.
