If you saved it in MS Office format (.doc, .xls etc) and not OpenOffice format (.sxw, sxc etc). It might, however, look somewhat different in MS Office, since there are features in OpenOffice not available in MS Office (and vice versa I suppose).

In my case, when opening a Word document containing text boxes, they almost never look right in Open Office, but that MIGHT be because my system lacks some fonts available on the computer of the person who wrote the Word document.

But yes, if you save an OpenOffice document in MS Office format, an MS Office user can open it with MS Office, but it might look a little different in some cases.

When we download Open Office all original MS Word, MS Excel and Powerpoint
documents get converted to Open Office. Now if we continue with Open Office
and we have to send a document by e mail to someone else who uses on MS
Office, can that person open the Open Office document in MS Office?
