I am happy to use Open Office, since I welcome alternatives to Microsoft.
There is one big lack though, from my point of view. I have very many documents in WORD 2 format. Because of that and since I have a paid license for WinWord 2 and I want to be legal, and because it generates small files, I still quite often use it.
So my disappointment is that Open Office does not support import from and export to WORD 2 format.
What's your response to that?

It is interesting to note the number of entries on Microsoft's own support site that speak to Word 2.x features not migrating forward well to Word 95 or Word 97. The following should illustrate that well: http://support.microsoft.com/search/default.aspx?qu=%22word+2.x%22

My conclusion is that not even Microsoft knew how to migrate Word 2.x forward - how would an OpenSource application, without access to the Word 2.x file format be able to successfully manage it?
