Hello Elchanan, OpenOffice.org has both the Backup option and the AutoSave (or AutoRestore) option. See Tools>Options>Load/Save>General>Save The paths are defined in Tools>Options>OpenOffice.org>Paths it may be advisable to create a location that won't be 'cleaned' when you quit OOo or shut your system. AutoSave is not a replacement for your normal 'duty' to regularly save manually, but my experience is that the AutoRestore in case OOo hangs is quite functional (although another thread on this list mentions problems in the new 3.0.0...)
