I have caused OOo 3.0 to crash, but mainly by pasting in web pages.
Could I suggest that you try and copy and then within OOo 3.0 ">Edit
>Paste special" this should allow you to paste the link into OOo 3.0 as
"unformatted text". I think this should work.
I do not think that a reinstall will help as the crash seems to be
connected with the editing of the information before it is pasted.
Can you please let us know if this works.

That was not the question. Every time he tries to re-start Writer, Writer tries to restore the
previous (crashed) document. This leads to another crash and an endless loop of re-start and crash.
He was inquiring about how to stop Writer from trying to restore the bad document on re-open. I
do not know the answer so I am hoping someone else may be able to assist him.
