I tried to export a document to XHTML and an error message "The selected JRE is defective".

So I downloaded and installed the latest one. (It uninstalled the previous version beforeit would install itself.)

No joy.

Windows XP Pro, OOo 3.0.0

Thanks.

Hello PJH,

You need to configure OO.o to use the JRE.

Tools > Options > OpenOffice.org > Java

It should auto detect the JRE
- ensure that there is a tick mark in the selection "Use a Java runtime environment" - if the list of available JREs is blank click on the ADD button and browse to the directory where you installed the Java files.

Thanks, Drew.

When I get to "Java", the box next to "Use a Java Runtime Environment" is already checked, and the latest JRE is listed. However, I see that I failed to click the radio button next to that JRS, and when I did, it worked!! :-)
