I have used OO for yrs& never had a problem untill now. I have the right configuratuon, but when spellcheck comes upv the little window says Spelling [none] in title and the 'text langague' string gadget is empty. A smaller window says spellcheck is conplete which of course is not true since there are 3 spelling mistakes there!!
