Gary, I've just installed the 3.1.0 RC and it - or rather, Writer, which is what I mainly use - seems to be working very well indeed - no problems with SCIM or importing Unicode glyphs using «Shift+Ctrl+u, hexdcimal code, space bar». One minor problem, which I suspect is not a bug, but rather the result of my own ignorance, however : when I load the programme, I get a message to the effect that updates are available for my extensions and to click on the little download button at the upper right for more information. When I do so, however, I get the following message : OpenOffice.org could not find a web browser on your system. Please check your Desktop preferences or install a web browser (for example, Mozilla) in the default location requested during browser installation. But when I check the «Internet» tab under «System» → «Preferences» → «Preferred Programmes» on my 64-bit Ubuntu Jaunty beta setup, I see that Firefox (I have both v 3.0.8 and 3.1.0 b3 installed) is indeed selected as my web browser of choice. What do I have to do to allow OOo to find it ?... Henri
