I have purchased an Acer 5516 laptop with ATI graphics to drive a video
projector. Windows Vista Home Basic is installed along with OO 3.1.
When I start an Impress presentation in extended dual monitor mode using
the Sun Presenter Console, the console display appears on the projector
screen (Monitor 2)and the slide presentation appears on the laptop
screen (Monitor 1). I also have discovered that when I start Firefox in
extended mode, it also goes to monitor 2 rather than monitor 1. Of
course I can instruct ATI to swap the material going to the screens, but
then my desktop is on the projector screen.
When I start IE in extended mode, it goes to Monitor 1 as it should.
I presume that there is some hidden control to tell OO and Firefox which
monitor is the prime one. Does anyone know where it is located?
This problem doesn't exist for any Windows XP machine that I use with
ATI graphics. It is curious that if only happens with open source
software, and not with Windows products.
