There.  Fixed that for you.  Several options:

a) Depends on how he was asked.

b) He has no obligation to help except what is negotiated.  If he's like
other people, he learned all that 'cool stuff' so he could use it for
his own activities and interests.

c) There are a few bullshit distros out there, e.g. Suse, Linpro, etc.
don't expect just anyone to help spread those

However, nearly all if not all distros come with Openoffice, either
installed by default or easily added post-install.
