Thank you! - this is a great find: so many comments, most thoughtful and good, over 7 years, plus duplicate requests pointing to this. Toward the end the discussion seems to be converging on a "reveal XML" [as Lars suggested earlier in the thread] as a functional counterpart to "reveal codes" in a stream-oriented (but still styles-intensive) word processor like WordPerfect. Very instructive regarding the current state of this request.
