The author of the blog is very unclear as to why. His company migrated to OOo, because it meant having the same tool on all platforms (Linux, Mac, Windows) and the files were consistently rendered in MSO 2k3 file formats, regardless of the platform that was used. The company is dropping OOo because it doesn't handle MSO2k7 file formats consistently across the different platforms. However, [direct quote] <<Microsoft’s Office seems to work with just about everyone’s system (if I stick to Office 2003 formatted documents)>>.[/direct quote] IOW, he knows going in that as soon as Microsoft drops support for MSO 2k3 file formats, he is going to be up the creek without a paddle. As far as his alleged problem with OOo goes, the issue is that a document saved in MSO2k7 file format, didn't display correctly when opened with either MSo2k7 or MSo2k8. However, he also states that he has the same problem when creating content using MSO. jonathon --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: users-unsubscr...@openoffice.org For additional commands, e-mail: users-h...@openoffice.org
