Hi

Apparently if you upgrade to Windows 7 the best version would be the Home
Professional (Mid range one).

Cheers

Well I have Vista Home Pre. and XP Pro, both 32 bit.
I will need to get an external drive to backup all
my data, etc. (12-20 DVDs worth) then do a "clean install"
instead of upgrade, since I will be going from 32-bit to 64 bit
versions.

I finally got Linux "sh" file installing to work for me,
so I can get the latest version of OOo for my Linux
version to be installed.

Let me see.
buy external drive
backup my data
buy MS Win7 64 bit (some version)
Install on the Dell laptop
hope that MS does not blow the thing up.

tired of MS, but have to use it till I can get a Linux
version to work on my laptops (sound and wireless issues)
