Which OP? Of this thread, or  the referenced bug?

The OP of this thread provided a sample .odt doc that displayed 'Page #
of 3' in the header for a 2 page document. He obviously thinks - as do
many - that it should say 'Page # of 2'.

If James wants the page that displayed Page no. 1 of 3 to display Page no. 2 of 2, rather than Page no. 1 of 2, the answer is simpler, just edit the paragraph details so the "Page number" control says 0.
