Yes, but other applications ODF support is often *very* different from
Openoffice.org's... meaning, the documents do *not* look the same.

As much as like the idea of ODF, it has not even come close to achieving
true cross-application compatibility yet.

Have you ever opened Word documents in other applications such as OOo or Word Perfect? Ever notice it doesn't look the same? This is due to differences in applications, not the file format. I seem to recall that it's even an issue between different versions of Word.
