Unfortunately, it is not always so simple. The company I work for changed our email addresses. The Exchange Server decides what the "from" address is in transmitted emails. The list unsubscribe address rejects me because the from address does not match anything it recognizes as being on the mailing list. I tried emailing the list owner to no avail. Eventually, the plug will be pulled on getting email delivered on the old address in which case I suspect the email will bounce and the cleanup should get me unsubscribed.
