Scribus is awesome, and an excellent replacement for PageMaker.
However, it cannot open or import PageMaker files. As far as I know the
only programs that can open or import PageMaker files are InDesign and
some versions of QuarkXPress. Sometimes even PageMaker has problems
opening PageMaker files. All three of those programs are proprietary
and expensive.

You might Google to see if there is an online conversion utility.
Failing that, see if you can find someone who has PageMaker. Once you
have the file opened in PageMaker (or imported into InDesign or
QuarkXPress) the text can be exported as RTF or Word DOC format, and
the images can be saved as vector or bitmap image files. You'll have to
recreate the layout, but at least you'll have all the pieces. And I do
recommend Scribus for recreating the layout.
