Your reference to the v2 caveat is what I was referring to.  What I learned 
many years ago was to use live data to try out software: bought, downloaded 
and home written.  This way if errors pop up, I am more apt to notice them, 
and the software is being tested with real world data vs. simple stuff 
entered to test.

How do I determine which version of the Java Runtine Engine is installed on my 
computer, and which version (hopefully the same) is OO running under.

Is there a clear installation/upgrade procedure so I don't lock myself out of 
my financial data?

What I find strange re: the JRE issue is: I can run calc and writer with no 
problem, only Base (of the same OO version) has the JRE issue.

Thanks for the issue walk thru.  I am going to hold off until I am comfortable 
that the issue is not on my computer, as opposed to the OO code.
