There is no need to register just to download. Registration is only really required for posting bugs/voting, etc. >From http://www.openoffice.org/ just decide which version you want (stable 1.1.4, or developer snapshot leading to 2.0) then follow the prompts for language, OS and mirror. Be warned that the download is 70-100MB, so if you are on dial-up, you will be wise to use a download manager.
