Hi, I had a similar problem and that's how I solved it: 1. in power point open the master view, select the background and save it as an image with some name e.g. myBackground.jpg
2. import the image in OOo, to do that... 2.1 go to format --> area and then to the bitmap tab (the last one) 2.2 press Import, navigate to the folder where you saved the file and select the file you saved in point 1 3. select the background for your slides: 3.1 go to the master view (view-->master-->slide master) 3.2 in the format menu select "page" then the bitmap tab 3.3 your background should now be available. Now, having said that, this functionality is far from perfect and actually in my specific case I needed to offset the background a bit (not possible), set a different level of transparency (not possible). In general I guess all the area of importing images for use as background could be improved. Is there a way to extract the slide backgrounds from these to the avalible for use section in impress?
