I have done as advised below and it worked perfectly first time. Looks like that was the problem and the answer.
Now, when I tried to open a Microsoft Access filke, it tells me I need - or it needs - a Java runtimne environment (JRE). Word, Excel and Powerpoint files have opened okay (I noticed difference in spreadsheet operations on an Excel file between the stable version and the Beta version). My computer has lots of Java files everywhere (when you do a search). I attempted five downloads from Pacific Internet with exactly the same result as you. One download from the Planet mirror resulted in a 100% perfect download and install.
