Access or base would work fine -- you might want to try calc too --
while not quite the same it would be a quick & easy way to get your
feet wet with something newer.

If any one is familiar with the old C-64 Commodore, with software
"data-manager", where you can put in up to 400, possible more,
files depending on
width, up to 36 spaces and depending on width, up to 8 lines.
Say you have the
date in the first line, and you want to look up a certain date,
press th
search, type in a date and the program would go through 400 plus
files and show
only the date you requested. Or if you put a name on the second
line it would
sort through all files and show you files with that name you
requested.
Microsoft said I should try "access", but that person wasn't sure,
does any one at
your facility, have any ideas?.
