Bertrand, As you have noticed this list is mostly in English and the volunteers are mostly English speakers so we do not often encounter problems like yours. Thus, I would like to direct you to users@fr.openoffice.org where the francophone community works on the chance that one of their volunteers has also encountered your problem and has a solution. In the meantime, may I suggest that you try installing the French language pack. See http://oootranslation.services.openoffice.org/pub/OpenOffice.org/2.0.2rc4/ I use these so I can switch from English to French.
