Peter,
Thanks.
I think I found the cause of the problem.
If I change the user data at Tools/Options/... then, when I do
Insert/Envelope the sender data has *not* changed. I need to
1. Delete the data from the envelope "sender" box.
2. Unselect the Sender (uncheck the check box)
3. Check the check box.
and lo, the details automagically appear.
So I surmise that I must have added my address details after selecting
Sender, presumably while "playing" some time ago.
All is now sweetness and light.
On a very slightly different topic, my envelopes need to go into the printer
"left-side first". Let me explain. The envelopes are 22cm (8.7in) *wide* and
10.9cm (4.3in) *high*. The 22cm is too wide for the printer which, in any
case, has special handling for envelopes. As you may have gathered, I come
from an M$ Office environment. In that world, selecting DL size envelopes
automatically turns the address text through 90 degrees (last letter of each
line at the top of the "page") or, my preference, 270 degrees (first letter
of each line at the top of the "page"). This makes life *very* easy for
people like me with HP Officejet printers. Do your envelope templates handle
this? Do you know how to persuade OO to do this?
Anybody?

Please, how do I get OO to put my address in the Sender details?
I've searched the Help and also the manual at

but to no avail.
Hello Harold,
I think you've hit a problem related to the antecedents of Open Office,
namely a German product with an American ownership. Nothing wrong with
that, but it does mean that address formatting is idiosyncratic and not at
all related to Royal Mail standards:-)
I've tried to recreate your problem, but in my case I get my address
(partially), but no forename, surname, Post Code or County!
May I suggest you use a far more reliable (and easier) method of envelope
production by simply creating appropriate templates. I use DL and C5, for
example, and satisfactorily formatting the return address twice, instead
of every time you want an envelope, strikes me as the best way forward. If
you need such templates, let me know your requirements and I'll send them
off-list.
