Jonathon,

I did what you suggest, but I guess I should be doing something more to configure the 'section 2 numbering' style to show that it is a sub- section of 'section 1 numbering'.

As it is, all I get is this:

1. Main title One
        1. Sub-point 1
        2. Sub-point 2

2. Main title Two
        1. Sub-point 1
        2. Sub-point 2
        3. Sub-point 3
        ...

But, what I need to do is:

1. Main title One
        1.1. Sub-point 1
        1.2. Sub-point 2

2. Main title Two
        2.1. Sub-point 1
        2.2. Sub-point 2
        2.3. Sub-point 3
        ...

"1. ..., 2. ..., 3. ... etc." would become (if it belonged to "1. Section A") "1.1. ..., 1.2. ..., 1.3. ... etc."

<CTRL><F12>
Create a new numbering style --- call it "section one numbering".
Then create a new paragraph style --- call it "section one text". In the "numbering" section put "section one numbering".

Repeat for sections 2 through however many sections you have.
Apply the appropriate "section x text" to the appropriate paragraph.
