     This is happening quite a bit lately. The problem is your 
anti-virus program is interfering with the installation of 
OpenOffice.org (OOo). There seems to be a problem with the firewall 
as well, although I do not understand why.
    To install OOo, you need to have administrator rights. Then you 
need to disconnect your computer from the Internet. Only then should 
you close your anti-virus and firewall. Then install OOo.
     At the end of the install, it will ask you if you want to 
register your copy of OOo with the OOo web site. This is not required 
and involves filling out some forms about your use of OOo. If you 
decide you want to register with the OOo web site, click register 
later.
     After the installation of OOo is complete, restart your 
anti-virus and firewall programs. ONLY THEN should you reconnect to 
the Internet.
