I believe Writer (at least, maybe all the OOo apps) has a page width
limit of ~45" (119cm). The page size dialog won't accept anything larger.
Even for pages smaller than that, Writer has problems with large page
widths, depending on what you're trying to do

But your description sounds to me like a printer driver problem.
As someone else mentioned, try exporting to PDF and if that works, try
printing from your PDF reader.
