Hello Harold

Thanks for your reply and the hints.

The problem with that is that I'm not allowed to make the file public. I can
send it to single people under an impromptu NDA, but wide distribution is out
of the question. Let me just say that some people spend way too much money on
Excel spreadsheets.

That's a good hint, I will compare results one by one. The spreasheet is
a "simple" timesheet. One odd thing is that Excel and Gnumeric highlight
cells marked as Saturday or Sunday in a special color, while OO Calc marks
different ones (in some months Wed/Thu, in some Mon/Tue etc.). Also, the end
result of the calculations for year's end are the same in Excel and Gnumeric
but different by only a percent or so in OO Calc.

I can't even figure out how you get Excel to color cells depending on certain
conditions, that's why I was hoping to find an Excel expert to help with the
analysis of those two cases :)

No, I can't be sure, I'll go through the document trying to find out if any
leap year calculation is necessary in the formulas leading to the end result.

Not yet, as Ubuntu still has 2.0. As soon as I can find a package for OO.o 2.1
that does not come in the form of a bunch of RPMs, I will try it out. It may
very well solve our problems, if the VBA support has changed for example.

Thanks a lot for your hints, as soon as I have any results I will post them
(if they turn out to be interesting).
