[users] OOo not starting on OSX tiger

Hi there, im running osx 10.4 and ive installed x11 from the setup disk 
when i double click on open office the icon appears in the dock and x11 
starts but no office file opens and there are no options under the file menu
has anyone seen this problem before?
or got any advice for me
any help is much appreciated
