I am not sure about error 2908, but 1935 refers to your
anti-virus software interfering with the installation of OOo. Perhaps
this will work:
1) Physically disconnect your computer from the internet (phone line
or RJ45 cable).
2) Close your anti-virus program and firewall if you use one.
3) Install OOo.
4) Restart your anti-virus and firewall. MAKE SURE they are working
before doing the final step.
5) Reconnect to the internet.
As far as your files are concerned, *.qpw files are Quattro Pro
spreadsheets. How were you able to open them with OOo?
Once you get OOo installed properly, you should be able to save
them as *.xls files. Does Quattro Pro open *.xls files? (I would
think so.)
