Thanks. My original download was incomplete. Funny, this is the first time that I ever had that problem. My Internet connection is always on, T-1 equivalent. Joe

Different MD5SUM more likely indicating that the file did not transfer
correctly, or did not finish completely. You might want redownload to
see it solves the problem, perhaps from different mirror. I just
confirmed that the version I have has matching MD5 but can't say for
sure for one with JRE...but I'm guessing that MD5SUM is up to date.

Also, one bit difference in the file will generate completely different
MD5, so you can't identify how well the file matches.

I downloaded OOo_2.2.1_Win32Intel_install_wJRE_en-US.exe when I
received the announce below.
The listed MD5SUM at http://download.openoffice.org/2.2.1/md5sums.html
is e4f9f970724bfdec119aea6e43cdbbd5, but the calculated MD5SUM that I
calculate is 9dc18621a26aaef41cfb99fcee984672. They are not even close.

My question: do I have a bad download, or, does the MD5SUM need to be
updated?
