Conversion rates are not a flat, constant, universal number. And it's the payer bank the ones that makes the conversion. Different banks will have different rates (paypal is specially funny), and the conversion is usually made when your account is charged (but different banks will use different systems), and that it's never when you click "pay".
The rational solution is opening one account in each of the major world currencies (at least Euro and US Dollar).
Everything else will only lead to bigger problems than the actual system, like donating 100 dollars just to be charged 99,96 or worse 100,33.
