I don't know the syntax for COUNTIF in Excel . Check in Calc's Help for the
OpenOffice syntax for COUNTIF. I have a strong feeling it'll be different.
For example, Calc wants semicolons (";") between the arguments of a formula.

But then I've been wrong before ;-)

Just out of interest, how did you "comment out" the formulae without being
able to open the spreadsheet?
