COUNTIF also works fine in OpenOffice.org; it's probably one of the most
commonly used cell formulas, so if it didn't work, many people would be very
loud about it and the bug would be corrected rather quickly.

I guess it's very hard to tell what's wrong in your case without having a
look at the file. If you can't attach it here, upload it somewhere and give
us the link so we can have a look at it.

What do you mean by "crashed"? It seems like peole say "crash" about just
about anything these days. To me a crash means that the program shuts down,
with or without an error message. I guess that sometimes I say "crash" when
I mean "freeze" too.
