When a document longer than one page is loaded and I scroll down (scroll bar or mouse wheel) the document constantly jumps back to the origin automatically..

I am also experiencing the same problem. I scroll down or up in a large document and I get bounced back to the same place. The only way round it is to use Page up or Page down. Sometimes even that does not work and I am forced to use the arrow keys to move the cursor so I can get to where I want to edit the document.

Tunning OpenOffice 2.3 on a windows Vista Home Basic os. Using AMD Turion 64 processor.

I have experienced similar "problems" with MS Word & Excel. What I discovered is that even tho the page scrolled, the insertion point hadn't moved. My solution was to left click the mouse in the text area where I wanted to work. This moved the insertion point to where I wanted it. Try this procedure to see if it will solve your problem. Good Luck.
