(I had to hold down Enter for about a minute, then the install seemed to resume "normally".) The overall impression, from one seeking to use your (sorry, I won't say "our") Writer app, is a nightmare of having the familiar locked out and the unstable and unfamiliar locked in. There was no Uninstall tool in the Start Menu menu, and since I didn't initially find OpenOffice in the Remove Programs list, I tried using setup.exe, ending up with multiple installations. Even after uninstalling via Control Panel later, there were numerous vestiges, such as items in the Start Menu and file associations. I do NOT want to have to use regedit to say NO to Ooo. Bottom line: Please make the Install and Uninstall processes work as naïve Windows users would expect of any robust and reliable application. Thank You.
