I am using a new computer, with Vista. It did not come with M.S. Word or
Excell. So I loaded my Word Perfect suite with the spread sheet Quatro-pro.
I was told to try Open Office to have a compatible Excell program if I wanted.
So, I downloaded O.O. After doing so, I lost a few documents when trying to
save them and the computer program of wordPerfect kept crashing. So, I
uninstalled Open Office. However, O.O is still attached to my Word
Quatro-pro. When opening a file, it is Open Office that still opens it with
its's menu list. whatever is attached to my Quatro-pro files, it causes the
WordPerfect program to print slower, and will not relaese itself to let me use
the original Quatro-pro program commands. In a way, it acts like a virus on my
master programs.

How do I get Open Office to release itself from my files so I see them as
WordPerfect files??

If buy and load a new disk of M.S. Microsoft suite onto my computer, is it
also going to be taken over by Open Office???
