Use your email client filter. If it allows you to filter on body content for "writer" you should only loose about 1/10th - 1/50th of emails of any significance about writer. If it allows NOT filtering you could filter all emails not about writer straight to trash, but i would go the previous method first and see if you are happy with filtering results.
