Firstly, you have written your request to a public Mailing List. All
emails sent to this list are sent out to thousands of volunteers of
which i am but one. Also the list emails are kept in a public, online
database and are visible to the whole online world.

Therefore sending your username and password in this way was not the
smartest thing you have done this week. Never give your password to
anyone, even tech support at your ISP should not want to know your
password which gives you internet access. If you have issues they can
get the computer to send you a new one via email.

One reason that you may have had issues is the length of the web address
(URL) that you had to click on to go to the confirmation web page. On my
email program it was long enough that some of it was on the next line
down. You need to ensure that the complete URL (without spaces or
linebreaks) is correct in the browser address bar before going to the
web page. The missing bit on the second line is part of teh code that
helps identify you to the web server.

Now your second problem that you created by sending your details.
Do you want the world to know your details (with or without password)?

* If you don't care then you could continue the confirmation step using
the info above, and then login and change your password. Time is of the
essence here as someone may do this pretending to be you now they have
your details. Why, i don't know, but someone may.

* Alternately, if you wish, you could start the whole process again. And
advise the forum maintainer that the account with the details you have
shared with the world is not being used and request it be deleted.
