Mine does... exact same OS & version (Gnome - not KDE). Import filter for *.docx is included, export filter is not. For Uwe: I think Novell filter will work with your Ubuntu version of OOo but not with the standard OOo. See: <http://www.ubuntu-unleashed.com/2007/09/openofficeorg-openxml-translator.html> KAMI's OxygenOffice also works if you want a more recent version of OOo. It's a good package & inlcudes exporting docx & importing xlsx and pptx. Alternately, you can install the Windows version of Go-Oo (http://go-oo.org/download/) or OxygenOffice using Wine and use one of those for converting the files.
