[users] keys available for keyboard shortcuts

In OO writer there seems to be a much more limited subset of keys 
available to use as shortcuts keys than in MS word.

I can't see how I can assign shortcuts to { } [ ] ; ' : " , . < > - _ =
Am I missing something or is this not possible?
